Get ready, Oklahoma! The Miss Oklahoma competition is gearing up for an exciting 2026 season, promising fresh experiences for both contestants and devoted fans. This year, the spotlight shines on Midwest City, as the Rose State Performing Arts Center prepares to host the pageant from June 8th to 13th. This marks the second year the event graces the Oklahoma City metro area after a long run in Tulsa.
Miss Oklahoma 2025, Tessa Dorrell, is set to pass the crown, concluding her year of service across the state. But this is just the beginning! Organizers are introducing a wave of new features, including a structured leadership program, enhanced supporter perks, and a digital-first approach to the traditional program book.
A Roadmap for Future Titleholders: The Rose Society
One of the most significant changes is the launch of the Rose Society, a new initiative designed to nurture contestants beyond the stage. Jack Cooper, Chairman, CEO, and President of the Miss Oklahoma Organization, emphasizes that the competition is about more than just the stage. It's about a lifestyle of volunteering, self-improvement, and goal achievement. The Rose Society is designed to support this holistic approach.
The Rose Society will guide participants with structured objectives, such as preparing school presentations, securing sponsorships, and completing personal development tasks. Contestants can earn scholarships based on their participation. As Cooper explains, it's not a requirement to win Miss Oklahoma, but an opportunity to prepare them for the role. Completing the suggested tasks will equip them to step into the role of Miss Oklahoma.
Rewarding Patrons with The O Club
For the audience, changes are also in store through The O Club, which elevates the traditional ticket tier system with added benefits for patrons. Cooper highlights that they're giving back to supporters with real benefits.
Depending on their level, patrons can look forward to:
- Invitations to exclusive pre-show events
- Official Miss Oklahoma apparel
- VIP credentials and keepsakes
- Opportunities to book Miss Oklahoma for private appearances
Cooper states that the packages are priced to support scholarships, but are designed to provide more value than the cost. He sees it as a thank you to the loyal attendees and a way to enhance what they offer these young women. Those interested in The O Club sponsorships can contact Miss Oklahoma Executive Director Kay Alexander at Kay@MissOklahoma.org.
Going Digital with a New Interactive Program Book
Reflecting the digital age, the organization is introducing a digital program book. Cooper assures that print books will remain available as keepsakes. However, the digital version will modernize the experience and make it more interactive.
The digital version will include contestant bios and sponsor ads, along with clickable elements like embedded videos and links, allowing for new engagement opportunities. While the pricing is yet to be finalized, Cooper assures it will be affordable.
Pageant Returns to the OKC Area
The 2026 competition will be held at Rose State College in Midwest City, where it returned last year. Cooper expresses satisfaction with the previous year's event, citing the exceptional staff, smooth operations, and the appreciation from patrons for the more central location. He also notes the historical significance of Oklahoma City for the organization, as it was where Miss Oklahoma began.
But here's where it gets controversial... What do you think about the shift towards digital content and the added focus on contestant development? Do you believe these changes will enhance the overall experience, or do you think some traditions should be preserved? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
