Santa Barbara Food Scene Updates: New Openings and Closures (2026)

Rori's Artisanal Creamery is opening in Goleta, marking its fourth location in Santa Barbara County and eighth overall. It's located at 270 Storke Road, next to Rusty's Pizza and opposite SloCoDo donuts. Meanwhile, Intermezzo has been closed for several months, with no updates on its website or window. It previously paused operations in the fall, promising to reopen in October with a streamlined menu, but its current status is unclear. White Caps is back in the Funk Zone, serving its full menu outside Pali Wine Co. on Saturdays and Sundays. Good Lion Hospitality has hired Adam Abrams as their executive chef, and more food, including weekend brunch, is coming to Lion's Tale on Coast Village Road. Jalapeño SB is opening in the former Santa Barbara Food Connection space at Milpas and Canon Perdido. According to Radius Commercial Real Estate's year-end report, an ice cream shop called Santa Ynez Valley Creamery is close to opening at Founders Market in Solvang. Finally, Tamar is offering a chicken schnitzel sandwich as a special, and it's expected to be on the menu for a while. Sign up for the Siteline email newsletter for the freshest food news in town.
